“Yes, the time (for the farewell ceremony) is being arranged,” he said after attending a tourism fund meeting at the presidential palace in Jakarta on Monday.
Aliotjo stressed that this year’s Indonesian Olympic team is the largest in 20 years since the 2004 Athens Olympics, when the Indonesian team had a total of 38 athletes.
The minister also stressed that Indonesia will participate in some sporting events for the first time this year.
“Some of our athletes have qualified for events they never competed in the last Olympics. God willing, we will make history. I hope to have the support of the public,” he said.
He said that the Indonesian team’s preparations for going to Paris have been basically completed.
“The preparations are about 80% complete. We just need to take care of some administrative matters and make adjustments on site,” he concluded.
