The second day of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s state visit began with a meeting with the Chairman of the Parliament of Tajikistan, Mahmedtoil Zokielzoda.
The head of state noted that relations between Kharkiv and Tajikistan are developing rapidly. Tokayev drew attention to the Treaty on Alliance Relations signed yesterday and said it would mark the beginning of a new era of bilateral cooperation.
– This document has great historical significance. We have taken another step forward. I support the proposal of President Emomali Rahmon to restore inter-parliamentary communication. We know that you are a true friend of our country. Because you spent your student years in Kazakhstan. Therefore, we hope that exchanges between the parliaments of our two countries will be restored and become the most important component of bilateral cooperation and alliance. – said the President.
The Speaker of the Lower House of the Parliament of Tajikistan thanked the Head of State for his comprehensive support for the development of relations between the two countries’ legislative bodies.
– I am very pleased to meet you. Your sincere friendship with our President Emomali Rahmon will help strengthen comprehensive cooperation and peace between our countries. Kazakhstan is a reliable friend and strategic partner of Tajikistan. Your visit shows that relations between our two countries are developing rapidly. We pay special attention to this. During the visit, 16 documents were signed, including the historic Treaty on Alliance Relations. – said Mohammad Toor Zokirzoda.
The Chairman of the Parliament of Tajikistan, Zokielzoda, confirmed his willingness to work for further strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation, expanding the contractual and legal framework and revitalizing the friendship groups between the two parliaments.
During the talks, issues concerning the legal protection of agreements reached in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields were discussed.
