President Kagame discusses Rwandan football development with Infantino

President Paul Kagame met with Gianni Infantino at FIFA’s new office in Paris to discuss the current good relations and new opportunities to continue to develop Rwandan football, the Office of President Urugwiro announced.

Infantino praised President Kagame’s role in showing the world the importance of football.

Their talks come ahead of the opening ceremony of the Olympics, when more than 10,000 athletes will compete in various events.

On Thursday, July 25, 2024, President Kagame participated in a meeting on the role of sport in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, along with other dignitaries, including Heads of State and Government, heads of international organizations, representatives of different sports communities, and others.

Rwanda is one of the countries with developed sports and also a country with good relations with FIFA in football development.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino said Rwanda is a good country to develop football and the country’s president understands the importance of football in a different way.

Following the meeting with the FIFA President, President Kagame and Mrs. Janet Kagame were received by French President Emmanuel Macron and took part in a ceremony to welcome dignitaries attending the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games.
