President Kagame also took the opportunity to thank the President of FIFA and the President of the Confederation of African Football, Dr. Patrice Motsepe, for his encouragement to realise such infrastructure.

“I want to thank Brother Patrice Motsepe, President of CAF, and Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, for inspiring us to build this football infrastructure,” he said.

“We continue to provide a lot of help to Rwanda and other African countries, aiming to promote the development of African football through such activities, so that young Africans can find a place to display their talents. So now our young people have no excuses, you must work harder and do better.”

This is the second time the stadium has hosted a match after APR FC and Rayon Sports drew 0-0 on June 15, 2024 in a match called “Umuhuro mu Mahoro”, which is also a match used to evaluate and assess the competition. Revenue, technology, etc.
