Damascus (for you) – President Bashar al-Assad received the Secretary-General of the Arab Red Cross and Red Crescent Organization, Saleh bin Hamad bin Nasser Al-Tuwaijiri, and his accompanying delegation, with the presence of Khaled Al-Habbadi, President of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and current President of the 48th General Assembly of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross.
My meetings focused on the importance of joint Arab action, especially in the humanitarian field, and the need to strengthen it at a time when Arab countries are experiencing various crises and disasters, and touched on the issue of increasing support for humanitarian organizations in order to reach all those affected and in need in a timely manner.
The meeting also stressed that the focus of humanitarian assistance efforts should be on supporting humanitarian intervention and meeting the needs of the Syrian people in the areas of humanitarian assistance and services.
