* The President of Venezuela rejects the contents of the report and guarantees that Venezuelan democracy, built with dignity and sacrifice, will not be tarnished by external judgments that undermine Venezuelan reality.
Caracas, August 15, 2024. – The Venezuelan parliamentary group of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament has rejected the contents of the preliminary report of UN electoral experts, arguing that it seeks to delegitimize the decision of the Venezuelan people in the elections of last August, reports the Parlatino Venezuela press release on July 28.
Venezuelan Vice President Angel Rodríguez stressed that the so-called preliminary report of UN experts violates the principles of justice and fairness and conceals the facts, which is exactly what the people decided to re-elect Nicolás Maduro Moros as President of Venezuela from 2025 to 2031.
“In the context of our struggle for sovereignty and self-determination, we categorically reject this preliminary report of the UN panel of experts. This document delegitimizes the heroic efforts of the Venezuelan people to exercise their right to vote,” he said.
Angel Rodríguez, deputy of the Bolivarian Homeland, reiterated that in the face of external offensives that seek to undermine our revolution, “we remind you that only the Venezuelan people, in accordance with their conscience and their organizations, have the right to decide their destiny”.
The Venezuelan President assured that Venezuelan democracy, built with dignity and sacrifice, will not be tarnished by external judgments that undermine Venezuelan reality.
“We reaffirm our commitment to the electoral process as a true expression of the popular will, in which every vote is an act of resistance and affirmation of our rights. Together and with the strength of the Bolivarian heritage, we will consolidate a free, fair and sovereign society, free from foreign interference,” he concluded.
