Libreville, Friday, July 5, 2024 (Gabon News) – The World Wildlife Fund (WWF), represented by its General Manager, Ms. Nathalie Nyare Essima, and the forest operator Precious Woods, led by its General Manager, Mr. Fredéric Ober, signed on Wednesday a partnership agreement to maximize the various initiatives of both parties aimed at optimally reducing social problems.

The agreement, which will last over five years, is part of WWF’s support to forestry companies engaged in sustainable management of natural resources. “We don’t always have the funds available, which is one of the biggest difficulties we face. So by working together we think it will be able to reach lessors and continue to support companies. Social issues are very sensitive, so we had to assure ourselves that they would not be put aside even during the documentation operation,” said Ms. Nathalie Nyare Essima, Director General of WWF Gabon.

By signing this partnership, Précious Woods intends to place special emphasis on several areas. “We will work together to exchange information in the fields of forest management, wildlife, environment, development, sustainable management, and explore projects that we can jointly launch to strengthen this partnership,” said Mr. Frédéric Auber.

In the future, WWF and Precious Woods will work together to strengthen the sustainable management and protection of natural resources. This commitment mainly covers two areas: social and environmental. Here, it will be a question of jointly seeking financing and jointly choosing the actions to be taken on the ground.
