In the report, it was reported that the conflict between Prasanna Ranaweera and Lohan Ratwatta had to be saved through efforts. The emergence of this conflict was an important step in Pohotu’s move to appoint Ranil Wickremesinghe as the presidential candidate. The clash between the drunken duo was reportedly caused by Lohan Ratwatte accusing the state minister of losing respect due to the recent incident at the airport involving Prasanna Ranaweera.
Here, Prasanna Ranaweera asked Lohan Ratwatta whether the incident involving Lohan Ratwatta in Anuradhapura jail protected the honour of the state minister.
Prasanna Ranatunga, Mahindananda Aluthgamage and Kanchana Wijesekera reportedly intervened to prevent the conversation from turning violent and leading to a conflict.
