On Sunday evening, after concluding the day’s popular consultations, Angel Prado, Minister of Popular Power of the Communes and Social Movements, said that day was election day.
“Today we saw the face of real democracy, mass socialist democracy,” he said, commenting that the day was characterized by mass participation, the mobilization of millions of people with hope and the certainty that the resources will reach all parts of the world. The projects approved today will be implemented in the coming days.”
“This is a peaceful day that deserves universal celebration,” Prado said, commenting that President Nicolas Maduro is making great efforts to take care of the country’s economy and that “the community is the first priority in executing most of the budget.”
“Communities take care of schools, want to improve electricity services, consolidate the distribution of water and other services, and restore public recreational spaces,” he said.
He announced that they were already considering housing projects as well as productive projects.
“Our young people no longer want to leave, they want to receive training, they want to participate in politics, but they also want to develop sustainable forms from the production sector that will allow them to meet their own needs,” he added.
