Police demand payment for fuel to bring body back to Binga
Police are asking the family to provide fuel costs to transport Albert Nyoni’s body back to Binga after a post-mortem examination.
Albert Nyoni, 32, was allegedly murdered by Pondai Nyoni, 43. The incident took place at around 3am on July 28, 2024, at Siamputeni 2 village in Magdi. Nyoni reportedly struck Albert on the head several times with an axe, killing him instantly.
After the autopsy, the police informed the family of the deceased that they needed to provide fuel money to finance the return of the body.
A relative of Pondai Nyoni said: “Pondai is my niece. Today we received a message from the police saying they need fuel to transport the body back to Binga. I am not sure if this is the correct procedure, especially since the police are the ones responsible for collecting the body for the autopsy.”
