This is what Police Prosecutor Henriette Taxt Røstadli wrote in Friday’s update.
– As of today, Hoiby has been charged with assault and damage. Ross Studley wrote that the charges against Hoiby are being continually evaluated and may be extended as a result of the trial.
She further stated that the Oslo Police District is still attaching great importance to the investigation of this case.
Seeking contact with other exes
Police also confirmed they had spoken to Hoiby’s ex-girlfriend Nora Haukeland about conducting an inquest based on statements Hoiby made about him.
They also wrote that they had also tried to contact Julian Snekkestad, another of Hoiby’s ex-girlfriends, over her social media comments. Snekkestad is another of Hoiby’s ex-girlfriends who made allegations against him on social media.
Hearing to be held next week
Hoiby will be questioned next week. The time and location will not be made public at the request of defense attorneys, police lawyers wrote.

Moreover, Røstadli writes, the recordings published on Thursday in VG, which allegedly show two phone conversations between Højby and the victim after the alleged incident, will naturally become the subject of questioning.
Make a statement
On the advice of his lawyer, the 27-year-old defendant has not yet explained his situation to the police.
However, he released a longer statement earlier this week expressing regret for what had happened.
– Last weekend something happened that should not have happened. After an argument, I caused physical harm and destroyed items in my apartment due to alcohol and cocaine intoxication. I suffer from multiple mental disorders, which means that I have and still face challenges throughout my upbringing and in my adult life. I have long struggled with substance abuse and I have been in treatment in the past. “I will now resume this treatment and take it very seriously,” Hoiby wrote.
He further wrote that his drug use and diagnosis did not excuse what happened and that he wanted to take responsibility for what he did and explain himself truthfully to police.
