In Mosaijón, people gathered in front of the town hall for a minute’s silence in memory of the boy who was killed on Sunday afternoon. After the murder, some official representatives of the city, the region and Spain expressed shock, dismay and condolences. Emiliano García-Page, head of the Castilla-La Mancha region, wrote on the X social network account: “I am shocked by the events that took place in Mossejón. My condolences to the family of the minor and I also hope that the perpetrators will be found as soon as possible and brought to justice. This situation is unacceptable and must be punished justly.”
The DPA agency wrote that after the suspect’s arrest, many questions remain unanswered. Spanish authorities have ruled out the possibility of a terrorist attack. They do not yet know the attacker’s motive. A spokesman for the victim’s family said it was clear that the criminal acted deliberately because of his behavior on the football field.
