Former ambassador Udayanga Weeratunga has said the Bodujana Peramuna Party candidate in Sri Lanka’s upcoming presidential election is businessman Damika Perera and the prime ministerial candidate is Namal Rajapaksa.
Former ambassador Udayanga Weeratunga said the Sri Lanka Bodujana Peramuna Party will make an official statement in this regard by the second week of next month.
Udayanga Weeratunga said the incumbent President Ranil Wickremesinghe is not the presidential candidate of the Bodujana Peramuna Party;
Udayanga Weeratunga told a press conference in Colombo that the presidential candidate of the Bodujana Peramuna Party has been decided by the party.
Meanwhile, several members of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and the opposition are reportedly ready to support the government following the announcement of the presidential candidate of the Bodujana Peramuna Party.
