Under the scheme, Rs 6,000 per year will be disbursed in three installments of Rs 2,000 every four months, directly into the bank account of the beneficiary.

All land holding farmer families having cultivable land under their names are eligible to benefit under the scheme.

Those excluded from PM-KISAN include institutional landholders, farmer families holding statutory posts, serving or retired officers and employees of the state or central government and public sector undertakings and government autonomous bodies. Professionals such as doctors, engineers and lawyers, as well as retirees with monthly pensions exceeding Rs 10,000 and those who paid income tax in the previous assessment year are also not eligible for these benefits.
