The Computer Emergency Response Forum said in a statement that it has launched an investigation into a fake website that resembles the official website of the Election Commission.
Its senior information security engineer, Mr Charuka Damunagala, mentioned that a complaint has been filed with the criminal investigation department.
When we asked a senior police officer at Sri Lanka’s Computer Crime Investigation Department, he expressed suspicion that the fake website was prepared for election-related corruption, but would not reveal specifics at this time.
