More than 1,500 earthquakes were detected during an intrusion in the eastern rift zone on Kīlauea volcano from July 22 to 25, 2024. Changes in ground deformation patterns suggest that magma moved underground in the area in stages and caused minor fractures in the crater link at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The event appears to be over, but unrest in the area is possible in the future.
