Solomon Islands continues to shine 13thday The Pacific Festival of Arts and Culture (FestPAC) took place this week in Honolulu, Hawaii, and dancers and musicians put on another exciting performance at the Waikiki Beach Walk area on the sixth day of the festival.
The show opened with the Wa’uraha pan flute players, who mesmerized the audience, some of whom had never heard of pan flute music and dance before.
They cheered and swayed to the sounds and melodies the boys played.
The pan flute players were followed by the Tasarao dancers, who wowed the Waikiki crowd with their performance of the popular Malaita Mao dance and other modern dances.
The Purple Dancers of Weather Coast performed the Fish Dance and some of the oldest Guadalcanal dances, which were re-enacted by four performers.

Kaumakonga Contemporary Band performs on the Waikiki stage.
Closing the show was the Kaumakonga folk music band from Rennell and Bellona Province.
The group introduced their portion of the show with some energetic Renbel dancing and singing before taking to the stage to sing their original song.
Meanwhile, in the main festival village, arts and crafts exhibitions and other demonstrations continued throughout the week.
Other side events in which the Solomon Islands participated included speaking arts, culinary arts and a Pacific arts and culture workshop.
The festival will end on June 16 with what is expected to be a spectacular closing ceremony.
