New Delhi: The third National Positive Leadership Summit was held in New Delhi. The summit was hosted by the Positive Movement, an organization that promotes positive social change and has 250 social, cultural and academic organizations under its umbrella, all contributing in their own way.
Music maestro and percussionist Padma Sri Sivamani, Marriott International Vice President Dr. Ranju Jha Alex and PVC Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav received the Positive Leadership Award from the chief guest, former Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu.
The summit-cum-award ceremony was attended by India’s Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Parshottam Rupala, former Supreme Court judge Madan Lokur and Education Minister Anand Patil.
“All should come together to contribute to the overall progress of the country. This summit is an exchange of ideas to work on constructive and innovative nation building, which is a laudable mission. Such initiatives are needed in every sector today,” said former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu at the summit.
“This is the mission of the country, not to emit any exhaust gas, not to cause pollution, to bring revolution and to infuse enthusiasm into the country,” he said. He praised the power of women and said it is our responsibility to recognize and respect women around the world.
Dr. Dnyaneshwar Mulay, founder and convener of the Positive Movement and former secretary of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (IFS), spoke about creating a force for good for nation building. He said, “It believes in unleashing the creative and constructive potential of every citizen. The goal is to strengthen the constitutional values of freedom, equality and justice through grassroots activities. It is a support group for social service organizations to implement government schemes for the underprivileged.”
Speaking about his experience as a judge, Judge Lokur said: “If you think positively, you will find a solution.”
The national web channel of Positive Movement, ‘Jan Gan ke Baat’ was launched here along with the MoP Youth Wing.
The event was divided into 3 sessions and at the end, positive champions, i.e. people who have made outstanding contributions in various fields of society, were recognized. They were DSP NHRC Lal Bahar, Deepa Deshmukh writer, affordable housing ML Chougule, elderly care chairperson Anugrah Abha Choudhuri, Sanath’s Gayatri Pathak, Kashish Bhardwaj, Saachi Ahuja, Indian expatriate Rajat Kapoor, Dr. Bharati Patil and Puran L Jaswani who helped overseas Indians out of difficulties.
