Nearly four years after being announced, the return of Anaconda is taking shape once again, and promises to be even more entertaining than the 1997 original.
Actors Paul Rudd and Jack Black are in talks to star in the new film, and while their roles have yet to be revealed, it is understood that one will play an aspiring director “trapped as a wedding videographer” and the other will play “an actor who made his mark on a cop series but feels his Hollywood dream is slipping away from him.”
The original film, starring Jennifer Lopez and Ice Cube, received some pretty harsh reviews, however, it grossed over $136 million at the box office, far exceeding its $45 million budget.
Currently, Anaconda’s return is still in development and does not have a release date.
Since the original film, Anaconda has spawned several sequels, starting with 2004’s Monty Python: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid and ending with 2015’s Anaconda.
