Tuan Ibrahim said even the Chinese voters had rejected Pakatan Harapan.
(Atmosphere) – PAS will not work with UMNO as long as the Malay nationalist party is led by Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man was responding to comments by Zahid, who said PAS would not cooperate with Abdul Hadi Awang as long as he was the chairman of a component party in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition.
“PAS will not work with Umno as long as Zahid is president. The result of the Sungai Bakap by-election clearly shows that PN is capable of fighting the 16th general election (with) the strength of PN,” he was quoted as saying by the New Straits Times today.
Tuan Ibrahim said PN would remain strong as long as Zahid led Umno.
“The rejection of (Pakatan Harapan) by Malay voters and even Chinese voters in the by-elections clearly shows that the people reject the government. I believe that as long as Ahmad Zahid leads Umno, it is good news for Perikatan Nasional as it will push Umno members to switch to Perikatan Nasional, which will be a liability for the Pakatan Harapan-BN government,” he said.
