Palestinian journalist Bisan Owda nominated for Emmy

Palestinian journalist and filmmaker Bisan Owda has been nominated for a prestigious News & Documentary Emmy Award. A collaboration with AJ+, I’m Bisan from Gaza and I’m Alive has been acclaimed for its raw and authentic depiction of life amid the ongoing challenges in Gaza.

Since October 7, Oda has been documenting daily life in Gaza, providing a rare and candid look at the Palestinian resistance to Israeli occupation. Her work has resonated with audiences around the world, showcasing the resilience of the people in the face of overwhelming adversity.

In June, Oda’s tireless dedication was recognized with a Peabody Award, given out in a Gaza refugee camp, making her one of the youngest recipients in the award’s history. The Peabody jury praised her for “her courage and perseverance in the face of imminent danger and for shouldering the heavy responsibility of journalism as the world watched.”
