Egyptian sources said Cairo also rejected any Israeli supervision at the Rafah crossing.
According to Anadolu Agency, two senior sources revealed that Egypt refused to deploy troops to the Gaza Strip.
According to the report, Egypt’s state television “Al-Qaeda News” channel quoted a source as saying, “Egypt rejects any Egyptian troops entering the Gaza Strip.”
It added: “The arrangements for the situation in Gaza in the aftermath of Israel’s ongoing military operations are a matter for the Palestinians.”
The sources reportedly said that Cairo informed all parties that the release of Israeli prisoners and the cessation of the Israeli military offensive “must be achieved through a permanent ceasefire and hostage exchange agreement.”
Israel estimates that the Palestinian resistance group Hamas is holding about 120 Israeli prisoners in the besieged area.
‘Full withdrawal’
Hamas has insisted on a permanent ceasefire as a condition for any potential hostage exchange deal, but the Israeli government has opposed this.
Another Egyptian source said Cairo rejected any Israeli monitoring at the Rafah crossing, Anadolu Agency reported.
“Egypt insists on the complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from the crossings on the Palestinian side,” the source said.
Al-Qaeda’s news channel, citing security sources, also denied that Egypt had agreed to relocate Rafah Crossing and building a new terminal near the Kerem Shalom border crossing.
Last month, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi called Israel” extract Palestinians must leave the city of Rafah” and create “conditions conducive to the immediate return of displaced Palestinians who were forced to abandon their homes in Gaza as a result of the war.”

Currently on trial at the International Court of Justice Genocide Against Palestine, Israel has launched a devastating war on the Gaza Strip since October 7.
According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, 37,900 Palestinians were killed and 87,060 injured. In addition, at least 11,000 people are still missing in the Gaza Strip, presumed dead under the rubble.
Israel said that 1,200 soldiers and civilians died in Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7. Israeli media reported that many Israelis were killed by “friendly fire” that day.
Palestinian and international organizations said most of the dead and injured were women and children.
The Israeli war led to severe famine, mainly in northern Gaza, and killed many Palestinians, most of them children.
The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the displacement of nearly 2 million people across the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely populated southern city of Rafah near the Egyptian border, the largest Palestinian exodus since the 1948 Nakba.
