On Sunday morning, our referees left for Turkey to start the preparation camp for the 2024-2025 season, scheduled to be held from July 21 to August 15, and joined the referees in the departure building. A total of 91 referees and assistants will participate in the Turkish training camp. The first group includes referees and assistants from the President’s Cup, ADNOC Pro League and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup, with a total of 55 referees and assistants participating. Among them, 8 female referees will receive training from August 21 to 3.
The second group includes 36 referees and assistants who will manage matches in the A-League and the U-23 Professional League, and their training camp will be held from August 4 to 15.
The Football Association Referee Department has developed a technical and physical integration program for the participating referees. The first and second batches of referees received training, theoretical lectures, case analysis and training courses on the most prominent new amendments to the “Football Rules”. The competition, theory and physical tests were all present and supervised by an elite team of lecturers approved by the International Football Federation.
The video assistant referee technology will also be put into practical use through small-scale competitions attended by amateur players, aiming to increase the experience of referees on the field in using the technology, especially the potential referees in the second group who will be used as video assistant referees and technical referees in professional club competitions in the future period.
