Finance Minister Dr Mohammad Amin Adam said the government had made progress in economic recovery.
He said progress made in fiscal consolidation, debt restructuring and economic reforms had not only produced positive results but also laid a solid foundation for future growth.
“As we reflect on the progress we have made, it is clear that our joint efforts are steering Ghana on a path of sustained recovery and stability.
“The progress we have made in fiscal consolidation, debt restructuring and economic reforms has not only produced positive results but also laid a solid foundation for future growth,” he said at a press conference in Accra on Thursday, August 29.
On supporting start-ups, the Finance Minister said in order to build a vibrant ecosystem to support skills development among youths, the University of Ghana is building a Digital Youth Centre for young tech entrepreneurs.
This is to enable entrepreneurs to interact, collaborate, start businesses and build sustainable technology-based enterprises.
The Finance Minister further said that the government recognised that the trade unions had retained confidence in the government.
He said they were grateful for the goodwill the government had been showing them.
“As partners, we have managed to keep the labour front relatively calm through various forms of engagement and negotiations and will continue to do so,” he said at a press conference in Accra on Thursday, August 29.
