Orgullo Boquerón, the biggest and best LGBTQ+ festival in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, announced this Monday that the event broke attendance records by attracting more than 40,000 people between Thursday, June 6 and Sunday, June 9.
“Not only did we break attendance records this year, but after the parade we closed the party with the incomparable voice of La India and the versatility of Gisselle, with the great participation of Lissy Estrella and Elysanij. Over the weekend we enjoyed music from various artists from Plenéalo, Algaret and our community. It was undoubtedly a great success,” said Pedro Julio Serrano, spokesman for Orgullo Boquerón.
On Thursday, the festival kicked off with the crowning of Maripily Rivera as Queen of Orgullo Boquerón, a day of celebrations that were increased to please her fans. On Sunday, during a parade and official ceremony, Justin Jesús Santiago, Brendita Roman, Barbara Hull and Lissi Estrella were recognized. Meanwhile, the animators were once again Brian Villarini, Magda, Alexander Torres, Desiree Cardoza and Carla Cristina.
“As part of a united front to advocate for the LGBTQ+ vote, a community conversation was held on Saturday to develop an election strategy for the LGBTQ+ community. Additionally, we registered thousands of voters from the community and allies to elect candidates who are committed to equity,” added Serrano.
“After such great success, we have already started organizing the 2025 celebrations to make it bigger and better. We will be waiting for you next June at Orgullo Boquerón, the best and biggest music festival in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean,” concluded Serrano.
