• The government had previously reduced its emissions reduction obligations by citing lower petrol and diesel prices.

The opposition saw
But the message was not well received by the opposition. Green party spokesman Daniel Heldon said it was “clear” the government had no climate policy plan and said Ebba Busch (KD) and Romina Pulmokhtari (left) continued to “mislead” voters by hiding it.
– First, the government was pushing policies to reduce emissions by 50 million tons by 2030. Now they are talking about reducing emissions by 2 million tons. This is not serious, he said.
– In addition, the liberal climate minister continues to lower gasoline and diesel prices, even though this slows down electrification. This, he continues, is neither efficient nor fair.
Anna-Caren Sätherberg, the Social Democratic Party’s climate policy spokeswoman, believes that the government has been blunt on climate policy and its handling comes across as frivolous.

“The weirdest comment”
At a press conference where the additional cuts were proposed, Romina Pourmokhtari wished Socialist leader Magdalena Andersson the ability to unite the opposition on climate policy.
– This is perhaps the strangest comment of the Minister of Climate and Environment, who has now abandoned all proposals. Sätherberg said that they agreed on one thing the other day, which came into effect on January 1, and that new information will now be provided in August.
From the Centre Party’s side, they were not particularly impressed by the proposal either:
