The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Nino Zilosani said today in Parliament that “the banning of opposition parties in Ukraine and Moldova is not negatively evaluated by actors both inside and outside the country”.
“The opposition parties are banned in Ukraine and Moldova, and no internal or external actors in the country have negatively judged this – this should not cause indignation in the case of Georgia either. (…) We declare that by electing Georgian Dream, the Georgian people will fulfill their promise, which includes judging the National Movement! Georgian Dream will fulfill this promise and become part of democracy! Do not try to translate it differently! (…) Irakli Kobakhidze is one of the strongest lawyers, constitutionalists and politicians. Therefore, making this statement directly reflects the interests and demands of our voters and Georgian society, and our voters will confirm this by voting for Georgian Dream on October 26.
From our side, we will do our utmost to ensure that those political parties that have artificially emerged under the guise of a “national movement” and actually represent the “national movement” cannot escape responsibility – both political and legal responsibility!
As Irakli Kobakhidze explained, the procedure can be initiated and complaints filed with the Constitutional Court and the Prosecutor’s Office.
We will do everything we can to expose all the harmful actions and steps they have taken against the country while in power or in opposition. This should be a public process!
Nino Tsirosani said the public must get answers in order to judge the “national movement”.
