An unregistered Honda Accord driver has hit a middle-aged man along Oru-Ijebu Igbo Road in Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
It was gathered that the owner of the vehicle crashed into a motorcycle with registration number JBD 142 VZ on Saturday, injuring two other passengers.
This was stated in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Directorate, Babatunde Akinbiyi, in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Sunday.
Akinbiyi disclosed that the accident was caused by dangerous driving by the driver of the Honda Accord.
He added that there were reportedly three passengers on the motorcycle when the accident occurred.
Akinbiyi said: “A fatal road accident occurred on the Oru-Ijebu Igbo road near Depot College of Health in Ijebu North Local Government Area.
“The vehicles involved include a Honda Accord with no registration number and a TVS motorcycle with registration number JBD 142 VZ.
“According to eyewitnesses, the accident was caused by reckless driving by the driver of the Honda Accord.
“The accident involved three people, two of whom were injured to varying degrees and one died.
“The injured were rushed to Ijebu Igbo General Hospital for treatment while the bodies of the deceased were deposited at the hospital mortuary.”
