CapCut started out as free, then added an optional subscription package in 2022. Now, CapCut is completely subscription-based, having dropped the paid package.
This may seem harsh, but a look at CapCut’s revenue makes it clear how much profitability the app has begun to enjoy, as CapCut’s net profit reached over $17.6 million in July last year, the highest level ever for the app. Not only was July’s revenue a record high, but it also saw a month-on-month increase, up 32%.
CapCut’s revenue grew to $1 million per month in just four months, and to $5 million eight months later. Six months later, CapCut’s growth rate also slowed down the competition.
