Today, the Damascus Police Academy celebrated the 79th Internal Security Forces Day, with the graduation of a new batch of Internal Security Forces officers.
Speaking at the ceremony, Interior Minister Major General Mohammad Rahmon said: The graduation of this batch of graduates coincides with the seventy-ninth anniversary of the great parliamentary epic, and its gleam radiates light, pride and glory, which shows that the graduates form the new structure of the internal security forces and have the training and qualifications to be able to devote, serve, sacrifice and redeem.
Minister Rahmon added: The graduates are ready and qualified to enter the fields of honor, dedication and honesty by optimally performing security and service tasks to uphold the rule of law, protect the rights of citizens and preserve their dignity and freedom, noting the efforts of the academy and its cadre of trainers who are keen to train graduates to be fully prepared and capable of conveying the message of security and stability with all their abilities and capacities.

Brigadier General Ghassan Halsi, Director of the Police Academy, pointed out that since its establishment, the academy has been keen to train generations of high-quality police officers through professional training programs aimed at developing security capabilities and skills to combat crime and maintain social stability and security, noting the Ministry of Interior’s concern to train a qualified police officer who can perform his duties in an honorable manner, embodying the slogan of the police serving the people.
The ceremony included military and sports performances and a swearing-in ceremony for the graduates, with Minister Rahmon and the academy’s president also presenting certificates of appreciation to the first batch of graduates.
The graduation ceremony was attended by the Director of the Political Security Department, the Assistant Minister of the Interior, the Chiefs of Police of Damascus and its rural governorates, the heads of central departments and some officials.
