On July 25, the first anniversary of the National Committee for the Protection of the Fatherland (CNSP) taking over power, the Head of State, His Excellency Brigadier General Abdulrahmane Tiyani, addressed the nation and inspired it with a bold vision for the future.
New impetus in Niger
One year after the CNSP took over the country and rescued it from the clutches of terrorism and foreign dependency, the speech by His Excellency Brigadier General Abdourahmane Tiyani marked a decisive step in Niger’s history. “We have no choice but to take charge of our own destiny,” he said, recalling the existential threats facing Niger.
Transformation and National Rejuvenation
Under the banner of the CNSP, Niger has embarked on a historic transformation, transforming a coup d’état into a mass national liberation movement. “The people of Niger have embraced this new momentum as an opportunity to redefine our future,” said Brigadier General Abdourahmane Tiani, stressing the broad popular support for this national reconstruction project.
Security and prosperity: the pillars of recovery
The speech highlighted four fundamental strategic axes: strengthening security and social cohesion, promoting good governance, developing the productive base and accelerating social reforms. “Our goal is clear: to restore Niger’s dignity and sovereignty,” he said firmly.
Brave men and women: Salute to the Wehrmacht
His Excellency Brigadier General Abdulrahmane Tiny paid a glowing tribute to the Defence and Security Forces (FDS), saluting their courage and dedication. “The rise of our forces on the ground is undeniable and we will continue to equip them to meet all threats,” he pledged, expressing the nation’s gratitude to the fallen soldiers and their families.
Economic sovereignty: a visionary project
Developing the country’s resources is central to the pursuit of sovereignty. He insisted that “every resource must benefit Nigeriens” and announced major initiatives such as a massive irrigation scheme and the promotion of localization of the extractive industry. Projects are also underway to create a refinery, a petrochemical complex, and an oil and gas institute, thereby strengthening the country’s energy autonomy.
Solidarity and regional cooperation: Alliance for the Sahel
The creation of the Alliance of Sahel States in partnership with Burkina Faso and Mali is a historic achievement. “We have overcome considerable obstacles to build a sovereign alliance of security and prosperity,” said Brigadier General Abdourahmane Tiyani, thanking his counterparts for their determination. This alliance, focused on defense, development and diplomacy, is a powerful symbol of the region’s collective desire to break free from the neo-colonial order.
A clear and firm commitment
The head of state announced a series of decisive measures to strengthen the country’s sovereignty. “We will not tolerate any external interference,” he affirmed, condemning various defense and security agreements and taking measures to oppose the influence of neo-colonialism. The Commission for Combating Economic, Financial and Tax Violations (CoLDEFF) was created to purify the socio-economic environment and guarantee the rights of the people.
Call for solidarity and collective action
Brigadier General Abdourahmane Tiani’s message was clear: Niger is on a path of profound change, uniting all its citizens in a common effort to rebuild. “Reconstruction requires the participation of all. Together we will overcome the mistakes of the past and build a future of sovereignty and dignity,” he said.
Towards a bright future
His Excellency Abdourahmane Tiani’s speech brought new hope and determination to the Nigerien nation. “Long live Niger, long live Alliance for the Sahel,” he concluded, reaffirming his commitment to lead the country into an era of rebirth and prosperity.
