On Tuesday evening, a young man was shot dead by Israeli occupation forces in the northern Jordan Valley.
Security sources said the occupation forces shot at an unidentified young man in the Atuf plain east of Tamun, south of the city of Tubas, injuring him, the extent of his injuries is still unclear.
The occupation forces claimed that they shot the young man after he attempted to carry out a shooting attack on the “Baqot” colony established on citizens’ land in the northern Jordan Valley.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that the occupation prevented its staff from reaching the young man, treating him and taking him to hospital, noting that the occupying forces attacked its staff and seized his communication tools.
The occupation forces were deployed between the Atuf Plain and the Citizens’ Farm, noting that occupation vehicles were stationed at the Atuf Gate most of the time.
Local sources said the occupying forces raided the homes of Atuf residents and desecrated the village mosque, allegedly searching for surveillance footage.
