Mexico City (apro) – As Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada faces a process in the United States, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador celebrates that violence has not yet broken out in the states of Sinaloa and Durango.
There was no confrontation, no violence, no unleashing of violence in the areas where these groups’ events were celebrated,” he said.
“We all know that these groups have been engaged in illegal activities for many years and they are, arguably, the most well-known groups in the country, but even when discussing sensitive issues, there is no progress,” the president said.
Despite the approach on the impact that the declaration of “El Mayo” could have on Mexico, the federal president said that more than 50% of homicides in Mexico occur due to confrontations between criminal gangs.
For example, of the 88 homicides that occurred on Thursday, 70 were caused by organized crime.
As of yesterday, two of those crimes occurred in Sinaloa and none in Durango.
“This means there will be no confrontation and we don’t want it,” he celebrated, again calling on people not to engage in violence.
