Chicago. – Former US President Barack Obama said in a November cartoon on Tuesday that Democratic candidate Kamala Harris could win. In a speech the next day, he Democratic National Convention held in Chicago and assured that the country was ready to “start a new chapter.”

“We don’t need another four years of grandstanding and chaos. We’ve seen that movie, and we know the sequel is usually worse. America is ready for a new chapter. America is ready for a better story. “We’re ready for President Kamala Harris,” the former president cheered.

In a thoughtful speech, Obama encouraged Americans to focus on the characteristics that unite them as a country and insisted that, despite polarization, citizens “want better things.”

“The vast majority of us do not want to live in a country that is bitter and divided,” the president said before an emotional audience that interrupted his speech with applause and cheers.

Obama sees Harris as a candidate who can unite the country and fight for the interests of the people, in stark contrast to Trump: “As president, she will not only serve her constituents…she will work on behalf of every American.”

The former president was the star speaker on the second day of the Democratic convention, speaking after his wife Michelle Obama, whose remarks also drew cheers and excitement from the public, in which he offered a scathing critique of Trump and encouraged him to keep doing what is necessary to get Harris elected next November.

The Democratic National Convention runs through Thursday, marking the end of the party’s campaign around Vice President Harris’ candidacy following President Joe Biden’s controversial exit a month ago.
