Manchester promises ‘great parties across town’ to celebrate Oasis reunion
She told the PA news agency: “I think Oasis are one of the most iconic bands of modern Manchester and obviously we’ve been working really hard behind the scenes to make sure this tour is a success and that they can play a fantastic homecoming show in Manchester.”
“I think it’s really great. It’s great for the city, it’s changed a lot since Oasis last played together and hopefully it will be better on the world stage, but we’re still really excited to host the two Burnage boys, who are reunited and together in (council-run) Heaton Park.”
She added: “I think the whole city is going to be excited for next summer, and I think we’re going to undoubtedly see a lot of activity that goes along with it, I think, really celebrating this moment.
“So I think we’ll make sure we have a great party throughout the city for people to enjoy.”
