From what I heard on the radio, Poplin had pretty good crowd support tonight, but that will all change in his fourth round.
He will face American star 20th seed Francis Tiafoe, who beat compatriot Ben Shelton earlier today – their five-set battle was the reason Poprin and Djokovic’s match started more than an hour later than scheduled.
Tiafoe will get all the crowd support he wants and more. He is also a player who loves to inspire the crowd.
We don’t know the schedule yet but Tiafoe is popular with American fans so I’d be shocked if they didn’t have a late game at Arthur Ashe Stadium but let’s see how it works out.
