The party was returned as it continued its campaign in Huye District, Southern Province, on June 30, 2024. Frank Habinezha is running for the presidency of the republic, along with 50 other candidates, competing for seats in parliament.
Normally, the Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB) law that governs the start of the “pension” states that employees who are expected to retire can apply for retirement benefits from the age of 60 and receive them on a monthly basis for at least 15 years of the plan.
Although the number of retirees is not expected to increase for 15 years, he will receive a lump sum pension when he turns 60.

The party pointed out that according to the legal requirement of 60 years old, the insured person is already very old, and the life expectancy in Rwanda has reached 70.27 years.
The Secretary General of the Green Party, Hon. Jean Claude Ntezimana said, “The pension has been reduced from 60 to 55, and even if you ask for it, it will be given to you at 50. What good will it do you to get a pension at 60?” Life expectancy in Rwanda is 70!
He went on to say, “A man should start collecting his pension with all his teeth, instead of giving it to you when you have two left, it will immediately dry up and you will start eating it and immediately go home and say goodbye.”

The Green Party also promised the public that if elected and gain seats in parliament, it would reform the medical insurance system and every party member would have the right to buy medicines from private pharmacies like people with other insurance.
The Green Party says this is possible because even in the last House election it promised the public that if you have health insurance, you can get medical treatment once you pay, and it has done so.
The party also promised the people to reform the school feeding program so that children are well fed.
Dr. Frank Habinezha said, “At school, children will have a full meal and there is no need for a meal.”

The party also promised to reform people’s lives so that at least every Rwandan can afford to eat three meals a day.
How pensions are provided
The pension is received at the age of 60 when the planned worker has worked for 15 years. The contribution is 30% of the average monthly salary in the last five years, but it increases by 2% each year.
Those who plan to receive a pension can also receive it earlier than age 60 if their physical ability declines and with the approval of a doctor. There are also non-work-related disability pensions for those who lose their membership in the social security system.

For widow’s pension, the amount received by the widow is 50% of the amount due to the provider. Still, children with only one parent receive 25%, while children whose father and mother are orphans receive 50%.
If the planner dies without a spouse or children, his pension will be collected by his parents, along with 25% of his monthly entitlement.
Those who are unable to pay into social security before the age of 15, do not have the opportunity to receive a monthly pension, but instead receive a single benefit as planned, but they will also receive that benefit when they reach the age of 60.
