Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport had its busiest July in its history, handling 911,763 passengers, 1.1% more than last year.
Aircraft movements remained virtually unchanged, up 0.4%. The slowdown in passenger growth was mainly due to the suspension of operations of Wizz Air, the airport’s second largest airline, due to problems with its Airbus Neo fleet and a drop in charter demand. In July, Vizz cut 20% of its annual capacity in Belgrade, or about 32,140 seats.
Aero reported that Belgrade Airport handled 4,629,540 passengers between January and July, an increase of 10.5%, or 440,837 more passengers.
