Activist Deji Adeyanju believes that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the recent elections, is not the kind of leader Nigeria needs.
Some Nigerians have expressed interest in Peter Obi running for president again in 2027.
However, in an interview with the Honest Bunch podcast Share on X On Monday, Adeyanju stressed the importance of strong leaders, suggesting that Peter Obi did not meet that criteria.
He called Obi “a decent, kind person.”
He believes that former presidential candidate of the Africa Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, represents the type of leader Nigeria needs.

He said: “You don’t need Peter (Obi). Peter is just a decent man, a good man… Nigeria needs someone, if he comes alone, those (corrupt people) will run away long ago.
“Because there are bad elements in the system, in the police, in the army and in the civil service, they need someone to teach them a lesson for their bad behaviour. But there is no such person right now.
“If a man like Omoyele Sowore is elected president by providence, Nigeria will be empty before he is sworn in. All politicians will flee.
“(Former head of state) Abdulsalami Abubakar said this during the peace deal. He said, ‘Sowore, if you become president, all of us are finished.’”
