Highlights of the weekend include the Thomas the Tank Engine Day Tour: Bubble Ride in Philipsburg and Edison Food, Wine and Beer Festival (NJIB will be here!!). A Day with Thomas
August 16-18

Thomas Day Tours takes you on a trip to the Delaware River Railroad in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. Bring the whole family and imagine how far you’ll go! Thomas Day Tours is a family activity that offers children and their grown-ups the opportunity to ride along with classic storybook friend Thomas the Tank Engine. Trains pulled by Thomas run hourly from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can also take a river train ride along the scenic Delaware River to Carpentersville, New Jersey (round trip, one hour and fifteen minutes).

Remember This Moment: The Commitment Award

Mark This Moment: The Promise Awards is a celebratory fundraising reception honoring all the Board members, amazing volunteers, compassionate houses of worship and generous organizations who have contributed to Family Promise of Hudson County (FPHC) since its inception in 2018.

Passaic County Fair
August 15-18

This year’s fair will feature four days of unique activities for all to enjoy, including games and rides, art activities and environmental tours. There will also be horseback riding, bouncy castles for kids and more. The four-day celebration will also feature two fireworks shows on Friday and Saturday. The County Fair Stage will feature a multitude of local musicians. Live music will complement the beer garden and some of the best food from all over Passaic County.

2024 Summer Art Walk in the Town
August 17, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Parasol in hand, parade along the winding paths of Sgt. George Ashby Memorial Park to meet local artists as they celebrate “Small Town Summer” with their works on display. Try family yard games and discover exclusive specials, promotions and art products at our authentic and charming local businesses in historic Allentown, NJ. Queen City Street Fair

This beloved community event began in June 2023, attracting approximately 2,000 attendees at the inaugural event and has become a cherished tradition. Held on the third Saturday of August each year, the event transforms the streets into a vibrant carnival with thrilling rides like Rockstar and the Ferris Wheel, as well as bouncy castles and classic carnival games. Face painters, cartoonists, balloon artists and more enhance the whimsical atmosphere. Attendees can satisfy their appetites with a variety of food trucks offering a variety of cuisines, from Jamaican and American to Puerto Rican and Cajun, including options such as soul food, seafood, juices and fruit bowls. As the sun sets, a live DJ plays a mix of music including soca, reggae, R&B, hip-hop, house music and more, creating an unforgettable experience at the Queen City Street Fair, where everyone is invited to join in the celebration and make lasting memories.

Serenity Farm Sunflower Festival

American Holidays

The largest indoor Filipino event on the East Coast. The event features all-day free Latin music concerts, entertainment, multicultural dances, Filipino food and products. The 8-hour program will also include Filipino martial arts demonstrations, colorful folk dances and a glimpse into Filipino village life.

Collingswood Crafts and Arts Festival

Otter Farm Flower Festival
August 17 and 18, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Ort Farms invites everyone to enjoy three beautiful weekends of blooming flowers on the farm! Visitors can stroll through the U-Cut flower fields, grab a bite to eat at Dellano’s or Ma’s Kitchen, enjoy live music from 1-4pm daily, and even pick their own sweet corn. Mason jars are available for purchase, and experts will be on hand to provide instruction on proper flower cutting and care. Each weekend there will be a chance to take home a freshly cut bouquet. Sailing Conspiracy Weekend

Enjoy a day filled with pirates, music and family fun while exploring the open village buildings and docents in historical costume showcasing trades, crafts and lifestyles of early America. Children can take part in the exciting “Plunder the Village” activity to find hidden gold coins and win free prizes. Fortune Pirate Follies will provide adventurous pranks, the Raven Family will provide an insight into the Viking Age and Norse culture, and everyone will be entertained with humorous performances by Kaptain Kristian and Red. Jolly Shore Leave will entertain and educate everyone with their musical talents.

Seafood Festival
August 17 and 18

The Coast’s largest seafood festival returns this year for two days of the freshest seafood, including lobster rolls, crab cakes, shrimp and more. More than a dozen of the Coast’s best seafood restaurants will serve up mouth-watering menus at this can’t-miss weekend festival. General admission is only $6, with free parking. On Sunday, families can enjoy free activities from 12-4pm, including bouncy castles, pony rides, face painting and clown performances. Live music will entertain attendees from 12-4pm both days. Participating food trucks include Angry Archie’s, Chefs and Companies, Cousins ​​Maine Lobster, Del Toro Tapas, Enzo’s, Hills on Wheels, Kiersten’s Creations, Lola’s, Sherri’s Crab Cakes, Star of the Sea Seafood, Vagabond Kitchen & Tap House and Vampire Penguin.

Independent Street Film Festival
August 19-21

The Independent Street Film Festival is a regional film and arts festival that combines curated films with community events to celebrate human creativity and storytelling.
