Jakarta(ANTARA) –
Investment Minister and Chairman of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani said that working with the business community in the investment sector will help the government support national economic growth.
“We have to improve cooperation with the business community under existing regulations and channels. This investment is too big to be borne by the government alone. We need to work with other parties,” he elaborated on Monday.
Roslani said that in addition to strong domestic consumption, government spending and exports, the investment industry contributes at least 30% to Indonesia’s economic growth.
“Investments will therefore play a vital role in the future. We must also continue the good work done by the previous minister, Bahlil Lahadalia. He set high goals and his work was exemplary. I hope I will also get the support he got,” he added.
He said he believed that business success could be achieved through mutual cooperation under proper governance.
“There are only two months left, but we will do our best in these two months. Even if it’s only one day or one week, we will do our best,” he emphasized.
President Joko Widodo held an inauguration ceremony for Roslany at the presidential palace on Monday, appointing him as investment minister and chairman of the Investment Promotion Board.
His appointment was made under Presidential Decree No. 92P of 2024 concerning the dismissal and appointment of ministers of state in the Indonesian Cabinet for the period 2019-2024.
He then attended the Handover Ceremony of the Ministry of Investment at the State Palace together with Deputy Minister of Investment and Deputy Chairman of BKPM Yuliot Tanjung, senior leaders and employees of the Ministry of Investment/BKPM and related associations.
He thanked all the leaders and employees of the ministry and BKPM for the warm welcome. Roslani said that after the new task was given to him, he hoped that all personnel of the ministry would work together to achieve the set goals.
