According to the schedule revealed by the US media, the NBA season will kick off on October 22 next year, with the defending champion Boston Celtics facing the New York Knicks, and the Los Angeles Lakers led by LeBron James facing the Minnesota Timberwolves in the league on Thursday.
Playoff games
The two meetings mark the start of the 79th regular season, which will conclude on April 13, 2025.
The “Playoffs” begin on April 19, 2025, immediately after the “Play-In” playoff games (April 15-18), with the final series starting on June 5.
The Philadelphia 76ers, led by stars Joel Embiid and Paul George, will face the Milwaukee Bucks, led by Greek star Giannis Antetokounmpo, in a pinnacle match in the second round on October 23, while the Los Angeles Clippers will play the first game in their history in their new stadium “Antuit Dome” against the Phoenix Suns, led by superstar Kevin Durant.
Western Conference Champions
On October 24, the Western Conference champions Dallas Mavericks will face the San Antoino Spurs, a team led by Frenchman Victor Wimbanyama, supported by star playmaker Chris Paul, who is playing his 20th season in the NBA, and with new player Klay Thompson.
There will be five games on Christmas Day: San Antonio at New York, Minnesota at Dallas, Lakers at Golden State, Philadelphia at Boston and Denver at Phoenix.
Presidential Election
No races were scheduled on November 5, the day of the U.S. presidential election, in an effort to incentivize the public to vote.
Each team will play 82 games during the regular season, with some of those games being determined by the NBA Cup, which begins Nov. 12 and ends in December in Las Vegas.
The traditional All-Star Game will be held on February 16 at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
