Nauru’s state-owned entity, Cenpac Coorporation, has signed an agreement to provide Starlink community gateway services.
The service is the first launched by the Nauru government in the Pacific region following the signing of an agreement between Cenpac and Starlink on August 19. In a statement.
Nauru customers will have the choice to continue using their existing Starlink kit, or switch to the Community Gateway service.
Cenpac chairman Zikki Eoe said the service will further enhance existing Starlink coverage on the island by reducing monthly fees.

“Community Gateway traffic is transmitted over Starlink’s global laser mesh network and utilizes our high-bandwidth gateways operating in the dedicated Ka-band spectrum,” Starlink’s webpage states.
Telecommunications Minister Shadlog Bernicke said Nauru would enter a new era of mobile communications once the network was deployed.
Land at Command Ridge for equipment installation is expected to be completed in October, with equipment launch expected in November.
