National Party Congress: Whites approve the Single Plan and will approve the Delgado-Ripoll formula today

“Our campaign starts today. We have just approved a government plan in which all of us are involved and from which strong ideas for the campaign will emerge. This Saturday, August 10, also means a special day for the entire National Party, as it marks the 188th anniversary of the birth of the National Party, when General Manuel Oribe ordered the use of a white emblem with the words “Defender of the Law”.

Delgado and Ripoll are expected to speak before the militants after noon, once the formula for October elections is approved.

El País learned from nationalist sources that Delgado will address militancy in order to “take control” of the elections. She will do this together with her running mate, despite the doubts that still exist in the nationalist ranks about the recent appointment of a leader from the Broad Front to a highly relevant position, announcing a new tour that will begin this week throughout the country and present the new message of her campaign.

The plan, the source noted, is to repeat the formula used in the internal election campaign of June 30: visits to provincial capitals and press conferences there, only now the goal is to make known the formula; namely, the introduction of Ripoll.

The former trade unionist, in turn, as she has already begun to do this week, will give priority to the south of the country: more precisely, the metropolitan area, whose urban and social image she will use to try to convince undecided or Broad Front voters to change their vote and restore confidence in the official project.
