Next Sunday, Najran Health, represented by the District Laboratory and the Central Blood Bank, will launch the “Donate Blood at Home” initiative, which aims to promote a culture of awareness among people about the importance of donating blood as a voluntary service in various situations. Out of the enthusiasm of the Ministry of Health, the initiative will only allow those who wish to donate to make an appointment through the WhatsApp application. The initiative must comply with the precautionary measures to prevent the emerging coronavirus “Covid-19” and prevent its spread.

Najran Health drew attention to the goal of the initiative, which is to provide community members with the opportunity to donate blood without going to hospitals or blood banks, in line with the curfew order, and to emphasize the commitment to stay at home. In addition to educating the community on the need for community involvement in various situations, supporting the stock of blood units helps health facilities and medical personnel achieve a noble and great goal, which is to save the lives of those who are in dire need of blood. Blood transfusion resumes, God willing.

She pointed out that the time for receiving requests from people who wish to participate in the “blood donation at home” activity is from Sunday to Thursday, from 4 to 10 o’clock in the evening, and said that blood donors will be supervised by qualified medical staff during the blood donation process and in cars equipped with relevant equipment and supplies.
