Paul Okoye speaks out about his twin’s betrayal
The artist announced the news during a recent interview with City FM radio station, when he was asked about the fact that the two brothers separated again as a group after announcing their reunion in 2021 and bringing back the band P-Square.
The band broke up in 2016, but they each started their own music careers in 2017, and in 2021 there were signs that the two might be getting back together.

He went on to say that his twin, Peter, asked him not to make their breakup public, saying only that it was a decision he was not happy with because some people would start calling him a bad person if he decided to make his own music again.
“When I start working on my own, they’re going to start calling me the bad guy, and that’s why I need to start talking about what’s going to happen so the fans know what’s going on,” Paul said.
In 2021, the group proved that they are truly united through music, and in November of that year, the two attended the “Ecofest Music Festival” in Sierra Leone.

That same year, they met at a concert in Lagos and apologized to their fans. After the reconciliation, P-Square released two Afrobeat songs, “Jaiye” and “Find Somebody”, and announced their long-awaited new album to their fans.
Before the album was released, Paul announced that if they continued working together as a group, 99% of the songs he had written would have to be cut from the album.
The twins are known for songs like “E No Easy” with J. Martins, “Chop My Money” with Akon and May D, “Beautiful Onyinye” with Rick Ross, and more.
P-Square started making music in 2003 and released six albums including “Last Nite” in 2003, “Get Squared” in 2005, “Game Over” in 2007, and “Danger” in 2009 before disbanding. They released “The Invasion” in 2011 and “Double Trouble” in 2014.
