The Fine Arts Department’s celebration, organized in partnership with the City Memory Initiative to mark the 150th birth anniversary of national leader Mustafa Kamel, took place at the Mustafa Kamel Museum in Saladin Square near the Sultan Hassan Mosque in Cairo.

The celebrations kicked off with the “Paint Egypt” initiative, hosted by Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Hamdy, professor of painting and photography at the Egyptian Academy of Arts Education.Helwan UniversityFocus on paintings inspired by historical places.
“The Paint Egypt initiative is interested in going out once a week and learning about Egypt’s rich historical and archaeological sites, and then they paint works of art inspired by those places,” Mohamed Hamdi said in a statement to Al-Watan.
Remembering leader Mustafa Kamel
Hamdi added: When Mahmoud Tamimi, the owner of the “Cairo is my address” initiative, invited us to the anniversary celebrations of… Mustafa KamelI found it a great opportunity to participate with the young people of the Draw Egypt Initiative to implement artworks inspired by the Mustafa Kamel Museum and its role in the national struggle to liberate Egypt from colonialism, as well as by the period of Egyptian history that the late leader, he and those who participated with him and those who followed him experienced in the context of national action.
They noted that the initiative involved 100 young men and women of different ages.
