MultiCare Youth Foundation (MYF) is actively seeking to partner with organizations from all walks of life to provide internship opportunities for its youth beneficiaries.

As part of a range of interventions under the EU’s BRIDGE project, MYF’s internship programme aims to empower young people by providing valuable experience, soft skills training and networking opportunities needed for the transition to the world of work.

The Foundation is seeking its business partners, particularly in and around May Pen, Clarendon, Montego Bay, St James and Savannah Lamar, Westmoreland, to collaborate and become hosts for internships lasting between four and 12 weeks.

“The goal of the internship programme is to ensure that young people can get some experience to understand the world of work… so that when they leave school, they can find permanent jobs in these organisations,” said Rodre Lawrence, placement and referral officer at the Malaysian Youth Foundation, in an interview with JIS News on Thursday (July 25).

He noted that many young people from communities affected by violence face challenges due to their education levels, limited work experience and discrimination based on where they live.

The program thus acts as a bridge between education and employment, giving young people a fair chance to succeed in the labor market.

Mr Lawrence told JIS News that one of the main advantages of the MYF internship programme is the financial support it provides to participants, which also has a positive impact on participating organisations.

“Interns will receive a weekly stipend paid directly by the Malaysian Youth Foundation, thereby alleviating the financial burden on the companies where they internee,” he said.
Organizations are encouraged to supplement these grants to further enhance the impact of the program.

By hosting MYF interns, companies can also benefit from new talent, increased human resources, and fresh perspectives to positively contribute to their mission and vision.

Companies interested in hosting MYF interns can call 876-283-6777 or send an email to rodrel@icdgroup.net.

They can also visit the MFY website https://myfjamaica.org/get-involved/ and register as an employment partner.

Join the Youth Foundation to change the lives of young people and create a better future for their community.
