A motorcyclist has died after a collision with a truck in Mount Gay, St Catherine, on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Garece Campbell of Decoy, St Marys.

Campbell was reportedly riding his motorcycle along Mount Gay Main Road around 5 p.m. when he suddenly lost control of the vehicle.

The motorcycle then collided with a Toyota truck travelling in the opposite direction.

The collision caused extensive damage to both vehicles and Campbell was thrown from his motorcycle, sustaining serious injuries.

He was pronounced dead at Linstead Hospital.

Police said the ill-fated motorcycle did not have license plates at the time of the accident.
