More than 500,000 Algerian tourists to Saudi Arabia in 2023

Saudi Arabia continues to develop Its tourism sector As part of Vision 2030, which aims to reduce dependence on oil revenues.

In 2023, Algerian tourists became the second largest source of tourists in Africa, with more than 500,000 arrivals.

In order to promote the development of tourism, Saudi Arabia launched an e-visa in 2019, which is currently open to 66 countries around the world, including Algeria, but the prerequisite is: holding a valid visa/residency in Europe or the United States.

In his last Activity Report The Middle East Economic Times cited the Saudi Ministry of Tourism’s forecast for 2023 this week, saying the country will welcome 27.4 million tourists in 2023, an increase of 64.8% from 2022 (16.6 million).

523,000 Algerian tourists to Saudi Arabia in 2023

The GCC, Asia Pacific and Middle Eastern countries accounted for the largest share of international tourists in the past year.

According to the same report, the total number of tourists from Europe was 2.7 million, while the number of tourists from the African continent reached 2 million.

Algerians are the second largest source of tourists to Saudi Arabia when it comes to African tourists. In fact, there are 523,000 tourists, including Pilgrimsentered the country this year. Egyptians were the main source, with 2.6 million arrivals.

Sudanese tourists ranked third with 447,000, followed by Moroccans (290,000), Nigerians (229,000) and Tunisians (146,000).

France is the fourth most visited European country by tourists to Saudi Arabia

In addition, the report shows that Bahrain is Saudi Arabia’s largest source market in 2023, receiving 3.4 million tourists, followed by Egypt and Pakistan, receiving 26,000 and 2.5 million tourists respectively.

Saudi Arabia’s other four largest source markets were Kuwait (2.3 million), the United Arab Emirates (1.4 million), Qatar (1.1 million) and Oman (455,000).

There were 2.7 million tourists from Europe. France is the fourth largest European country in terms of the number of tourists from Saudi Arabia, with 167,000 French tourists in 2023, just behind the United Kingdom and its 370,000 visitors.

Saudi Arabia also welcomed 470,000 tourists from the Americas. The United States was the main source country for tourists from the Americas, with 331,000 visitors, followed by Canada (104,000) and Brazil (12,000).
